Colorado 811 will host statewide legislative meetings for all CO 811 members. These meetings will cover the changes to the new One Call legislation.
The following topics will be discussed:

- New member delivery ticket format
- Relabeling 2nd Notice Ticket to Excavator Re-Notification
- New Subsurface Utility Engineering Ticket
- Tier Two Members will start receiving tickets starting January 1, 2019
- Road Grading
- Secondary Excavator
- Cancel Tickets Fee

In partnership with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Colorado 811, ACEC Colorado invites you to register for one of the six statewide trainings that will provide an overview of the new Colorado 811 One Call/Subsurface Utility Law (effective Aug. 8, 2018) and what it means for design, construction and utility companies that are implementing requirements of the law into their projects.
The regional, half-day trainings will be focused toward design professionals with an emphasis on the American Society of Civil Engineers Standard Guidelines for the Collection & Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data (ASCE 38-02), which is referenced in the new law. These trainings are for agency engineers, consulting engineers and land surveyors, utility engineers, and data keepers.
The Denver-area, all-day training will include both design and construction focuses. This training is for agency engineers, consulting engineers and land surveyors, utility engineers, data keepers, and contractors. This event is being planned also in cooperation with Colorado Contractors Association.
At all trainings, engineers from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will present how they are implementing the law’s new requirements.

- Format is a 4-player scramble. Each player tees off and the best shot is chosen. All players then hit again from within one club length of the chosen shot. You cannot move closer to the hole, or out of a hazard or the rough. NO SCORE WORSE THAN BOGEY CAN BE TAKEN ON ANY HOLE.
- Prizes awarded for team winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), special holes (Long Drive, Closest to the Pin, etc.) and a drawing to be held after the tournament.
- ENTRY FEES ARE $110 PER PLAYER AND ARE DUE WITH THE COMPLETED ENTRY FORMS NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 19, 2018.
Any player/players added after this date or the day of tournament (after exceeding 100 players) will be required to pay an additional $20.00/ player late fee. The shotgun start is scheduled for 8 am, with the registration beginning at 7 am.

Colorado 811 will be conducting a free PipelineResponse and Mock Line Strike. The purpose of this course is to educate excavators, contractors, public officials and emergency responders about pipeline safety and awareness.
The Mock Line Strike features a simulated natural gas release caused by unsafe digging practices. Attendees will witness response procedures as local emergency responders and utility operators work in unified command to resolve the situation.

Western Slope Damage Prevention Council meets every third Wednesday of each month at 2190 H ¼ Rd at 9:30am.
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Hazmat Safety Research and Development Forum is scheduled for May 16th and 17th at the National Transportation Safety Board Conference Center. The forum will be attended by industry representatives, modal authorities, federal and state officials. PHMSA will present the results of recently completed projects, brief attendees on new project plans, and solicit stakeholder input on current and future research projects.
An official announcement about the R&D Forum will be published in the Federal Register soon, but in the meantime, please feel free to circulate this email to your peers and other interested parties.
